Another "wet - on - wet"

Pear and clementines, 10" x 14", water colour.  This one is a little wetter, I think.

Wet - on - wet technique

Pears, 10" x 14, water colour.  I was experimenting with wet - on - wet techniques, as well as trying to use different whites for added impact.  Interesting exercise!  I think I need to get it even wetter and loose control a bit more.

A Few Feet Away

Oranges in White Bowl, watercolour.  7" x 10"
"The artist's world is limitless.  It can be found anywhere, far from where he lives or a few feet away.  It is always on his doorstep." - Paul Strand.  A teacher shared this beautiful quotation with the class yesterday.

Amelia's Bouquet

Watercolour:  This is part of a larger painting of a bouquet of flowers Amelia received for her performance in "Life Here After".  Two white roses, a single poppy and a wonderful leaf with red edges.  There were also some thistles in the original bouquet and painting.

Getting feet wet

A new year, a new beginning!

Still life with pine cone, water colour:  12"" x 16"
This was painted in the studio on the last day of class in December 2012.  I am hoping to post paintings done at home and in class, in water colour and oils, as well as a drawing from time to time.  I am not sure yet if I can do a daily painting, but I will give it a try!  I have seen some people doing a 30 day challenge that began on January 2nd;  I am a little late starting, and this blog set-up will take some getting used to, but I am going to give it a try!
